This is a weird issue and it took me a while to figure out when exactly this happens: 1) Enter a URL in the URL bar that contains umlauts, don't click any of the suggestions in the autocomplete list, but type the whole URL. 2) Press Enter. 3) Strange modification of the typed URL. Example: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%96sterreich gets me to the server http://de.wide.wikipedia.org/ which leads me to an error page of my ISP. Screencast: http://screencast.com/t/kAhFVVr7PZ6G
