Details

I've sat on this bug since 0.8.0, but it's still present in 2001050208, so I thought I should report it. I think it's based on an interaction between tvtwm-pl11 (my window manager) and mozilla. tvtwm is mouse-over to focus, but when my mouse is over any text window in mozilla, I cannot type in it. If, however, I explicitly set focus to that UI element, I can type successfully. I've checked out all the system and local Xresources -- nothing refers to mozilla. I've done several installs of different systems, all with the same results. I've been using this window manager for over 10 years, and I've never seen another application do this in tvtwm. When I click in a text box to start typing, no cursor appears. If I go ahead and start typing, nothing happens. Selecting the current URL and hitting backspace or delete similarly produces no results. Pasting text into the widget works. As far as the focus thing goes -- it's not that I'm just focused somewhere else -- unfocus works fine for me in all applications (including this one). It's just not getting any events, except for the x clipboard paste thing. Actual user agent string: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux 2.4.0-4GB i686; en-US; rv:0.8.1+) Gecko/20010502 [because I can't really use mozilla in this state]
Yeah, sounds like your window manager is funky. What's different about it when compared with other window managers? You aren't giving me much to go on here.
Could you make a debug build, and attach the console output? ->dr/moz0.9.3

I suspect that this might be fixed with fix of a checkin for 76854 but I'm just talking about of my ass. It's all window manager related so I'm going to steal this from dan. Dan if you want it back for some reason let me know. What is the URL to a tarball for this odd window manager so that I can test with Xnest?
