Exactly the same issue as bug #766914, but specific to the Google Nexus 7, it seems. Affects 17 and 18 (central), I've not tested on 15 or 16 (which have a work-around that should stop this from happening, so should be fine?).

Works fine on the Galaxy Nexus.

I have confirmed the issue on a Google Nexus 7.

Firefox 15.0 works
Aurora 16.0a2 2012-08-27 (this will be beta) works
Aurora 17.0a2 2012-08-28 affected
Nightly 18.0a1 2012-08-29 affected

Looks like we regressed something on 17.

17 is when the work-around documented in bug #766914 was taken out (as apparently, the site ought to work without it now). Perhaps we have a different user-agent on tablet, and the evangelism didn't cover that?

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7" affected. They are probably sniffing for 'mobile'; where we have 'tablet'.
Summary: Unable to play videos on mobile YouTube on the Nexus 7; redirection loop on 'Play' → Unable to play videos on mobile YouTube on the 7" tablets; redirection loop on 'Play'
Nexus 7 uses the Tablet UA as well.
Does this affect 10" tablets too? (thinking of the bug title)
We use the tablet UA for all tablets, so I imagine all tablets are broken for youtube.com (unverified).
Summary: Unable to play videos on mobile YouTube on the 7" tablets; redirection loop on 'Play' → Unable to play YouTube videos on tablets; redirection loop on 'Play'
Fixes the issue on a Galaxy Tab II 7".

Use mobile UA for YouTube on tablets

ZOMG! Not this again!

If we must, we must. Who is on the hook to get YouTube to try harder?

Should we open a new bug to remove this hack dependent on getting YouTube to fix their sniffing?
This doesn't affect anything before 17 since we didn't backout bug 766914 until 17.
