787101 - Make it mandatory to be a vouched Mozillian on Reps application form

In order to filter out applicants who are not vouched Mozillians, we should add a mandatory field in the application form to indicate that you're a vouched mozillian.

I believe this must be refiled under bugzilla bugs, to BMO admins can make the change.

Sure. Under which product and component should I file it though? There is a Bugzilla component and a bugzilla.mozilla.org component :(

we can easily make the 'Mozillians.org Account' field mandatory on the application form, however checking if it's vouched isn't something we can do i'm sorry.

i've updated the form to make the account field mandatory:

I think that the scope of this bug is to make sure that a person is a vouched mozillian (by checking mozillians.org API for it)

be aware that requires a reasonable amount of work, so i can't provide an ETA at this stage.


there is value in having bmo able to access the mozillains api (to address more than just this reuqest), but we have privacy, infrastructure and development hurdles to leap first.

Making the field mandatory is a start and possibly what was intended. People will have to put *something* in, hopefully people who don't have a profile will realize that they don't have one and back out of the application. If they do have one then they would put that in, so it at least eliminates the case of people with profiles not including the link.
