Steps to reproduce:

A Software Update box for 15.0.1 popped up today on one of my machines.  As a matter of policy, I never just click "Update" in this box; instead, I clicked "more information", read some, and then found my way to https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/fx/#desktop - exactly how, I don't remember.  (It would be nice if there was a direct download link on the Release Notes page, but that's another issue.)  That page incorrectly reported "up to date".

In case anybody cares, I've held off updating to 15.0.1 to be able to continue to test this (which I've been doing several times a day since I noticed it).

Had this same problem again today - Firefox 16.0.1 popped up a window about upgrading to 16.0.2, but the page in question reported "up to date" anyway.

In the meantime, I read something about Firefox's behavior being changed to not include a full version number in the user agent string so that bad guys can't target versions that lack specific security fixes, so this might be a WONTFIX.  Still, if mozilla.org is going to have a page that purports to inform users whether their installation is up to date, it should do so - but then again whatever technique it could use to detect this could also be used by the bad guys.  Perhaps this page has now outlived its usefulness.

Currently Firefox doesn't provide any information on the exact minor version. I have filed Bug 966030 to solve this issue.
