User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.0; WOW64; rv:15.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/15.0.1
Build ID: 20120905151427
Steps to reproduce:
Audio on HTML5 players like Youtube and the default player of Firefox crackles with random moment in the stream.
This problem is reported by another user of Firefox 15 with the same symptoms
This problem doesn't affect Adobe Flash's player, the OS audio and speaker working great (the audio output i use is the AMD HDMI from graphic card instead of Realtek output audio).
The problem seems similar to https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=747793, but in my case it's happened after the v15.0.0 stable update.

Severity: normal → minor
Could you try to set about:config > media.use_cubeb = false (create this boolean if needed) and make a test, please.

Problem seems resolved with the solution of Loic and Matthew Raymond of bug 788005.
Thanks for everyone.
is this the same bug that's still happening on youtube w/ HTML5?
I narrowed it down to it being that all HTML5 vids on youtube (if HTML5 is enabled at youtube.com/HTML5) produce a high-pitched crackling/clicking sound every time the mouse clicks on the progress bar to skip back/fwd, and also when the video loads. it's obvious on this video since the sound doesn't obstruct the crackling glitch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ICcK6Li5OfM. this does not happen if I let the video play in Flash.

using osx 10.7.5, FF 31 and also the Nightlies.
