Feedback from Viet Ngoc:

"I just try firefox 16 beta on the android and that the reader mode is great. However, I think that when firefox in reader mode, the user needs to have an icon to get to know that you are in reader mode rather than normal reading mode page. I suggest the reader mode icon should be highlighted when firefox in this mode. Besides, this symbol should be used to turn off the reader mode. Currently, I can use the back button to return to the normal mode, but I guess this could make it difficult for ordinary users. Example of this idea is iReader addon for firefox desktop."

Ian, thoughts?
It is related to bug 790880 and to bug 784331.
If the latter is going to be implemented, it would make sense to use the button to deactivate the reader mode.
Giving the reader icon in the title bar an On and Off state makes sense to me. I would keep the rest of the interactions unchanged, though (still allow people to switch back using the back button, when they enter reader mode from a website)

This was indeed accomplished with completion of bug 784331.
