Details

(Whiteboard: [Snappy])

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:18.0) Gecko/18.0 Firefox/18.0 Build ID: 20120918030553 Steps to reproduce: Some pages have a very bad framerate when scrolling. I occasionally started the gecko profiler and most of the time the painting of AlphaBoxBlur was the culprit. Examples: Bug 718453 Bug 732938 Actual results: Box Shadows seriously harm the browsing experience. Expected results: Optimizations would have a big impact.

Bas - I have a note from our Oct 4 Snappy meeting that you were to add a Telemetry probe to help measure for this issue. Did you get to do that?
(In reply to Lawrence Mandel [:lmandel] from comment #1) > Bas - I have a note from our Oct 4 Snappy meeting that you were to add a > Telemetry probe to help measure for this issue. Did you get to do that? I decided to just make it faster. We can still add telemetry of course :).
Bas - Did you already make this faster in bug 509052? Can this be resolved? Should it be duped?
