Text-selection should be disabled when tapping and holding within a text input field to move cursor.

- We will not have cut/copy/paste capabilities for V1 so there is no need for this capability.

- For V2+ we will work on better text cursor control/selection.
Agreed. This isn't ready for primetime and should be improved (probably unrealistic given time frame) or deferred until future version where we have luxury of polishing.

Chris, who should we speak to about this?

Bug 823619 conveniently (and unintentionally) broke this for app content (bug 826401).

The only place text selection works is in the browser URL bar, where we pretty much require it to handle editing long URLs.

So then this is already working like we want for v1?

Looks to be working as it should.

Is this ready to be closed?
We still have text selection in the browser URL bar, but every other input field doesn't select.

If that's acceptable, more than happy to close.
Depends on: 826401
Casey/UX are happy, so I'm happy. Fixed by bug 823619.
