Heh, I thought I'd look at Android's backend and realized that's for a different API, and we haven't implemented the Netinfo API yet… Oops :)
Summary: Network API: OS X Backend → Network Information API: OS X Backend
…or I was just looking at the wrong version of the draft. The TR makes sense for OS X, but this new version doesn't make a lot of sense for non-mobile devices. The only network type that is by definition slower than Wi-fi/Ethernet on OS X is a Bluetooth PAN, so implementing this version of the API on OS X doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

Going through triage and this bug popped up. Is this still a desired feature?

I don't think we want to support this API. Mozilla's security/privacy folks have raised concerns about it in its current form.

I'd suggest closing as won't fix.

Thank you! Closing as won't fix per comment 4.
