Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.7; rv:15.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/15.0.1 Build ID: 20120905151427 Steps to reproduce: I wanted to combine bookmarks from two Firefox installs. This turns out to be gratuitously hard, because there is no way to "import" JSON bookmarks (rather than replacing existing bookmarks with them), and Firefox isn't generating HTML bookmarks anymore. Actual results: I eventually found a workaround, which was: 1. Restore one set of JSON bookmarks. 2. Export them as HTML. 3. Restore the other set. 4. Import the HTML file from step 2. Expected results: Any of: 1. Continue updating bookmarks.html so it's a usable current backup. 2. Offer a choice of whether to replace existing bookmarks, or import a JSON file as a new folder. I think 2 is better; it'd be really nice to be able to drop the HTML bookmarks format entirely, but there is no way to combine two sets of bookmarks without it that I can find.
