Can you retest this? 7902 has a lot of history that makes me think this bug may be stale and fixed.

Mac build 1999070810 edit/prefs is working without crashing-am able to add, delete data to prefs
Bulk move of all Pref UI component bugs to new Preferences component. Pref UI component will be deleted.
