Currently when one visits a URL in a Private Browsing tab one is able to create a home-screen shortcut from the URL No URL's should leak out from Private Browsing. (New profile) i) New Private Browsing tab → (e.g, "http://www.msnbc.com") ii) Add to Home-Screen Should the user have the ability to create a 'breadcrumb' shortcut from a Private Browsing URL?

I'm not sure that this is a bug. In desktop dragging a link to the desktop under private browsing the shortcut is not deleted. In the desktop download manager files are not deleted when they are downloaded (though not displayed in the download history). In other words user actions that are expected to persist do.

Same is true of extension installs in private browsing mode.

Correct. In desktop Firefox, we do not prevent explicit user actions. A good example is bookmarking something.
