MDN references specs but seems to mostly point to TR/ versions of the spec. TR/ is always outdated. I think it would be better if MDN pointed to the latest editor's draft instead.
Our politics is to reference the dev version of the spec (ED). We do it systematically in the CSS for example. TR is indeed always outdated Feel free to edit to the links if you find one.
OK. That's good to know. https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/DOM/Node.contains is where I noticed this. I don't feel like fixing one page, it seems better to find an approach to fix all pages and maybe also come up with something so it gets noticed immediately when someone puts in new spec links.

It would be nice if we could figure out a way to automatically keep spec links up to date. Anyone have any thoughts here?

So SpecName/Spec2 macros usually don't point to TR/. (Except when linking to Recommendation that doesn't have ED anymore) There are likely still hardcoded links to TR/ here or there, but we remove them at sight. I'm closing this bug, feel free to open specific bugs for the remaining occurrences.
