Steps:
0. Mount a network drive
1. Download a "large" file and save it to the network drive, I spotted the issue downloading jdk-7u9-linux-i586.tar.gz from http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk7u9-downloads-1859576.html

Result:
Nightly becomes non-responsive during the download and with Windows 7's "Resource Monitor" shows "One or more threads of firefox.exe are waiting to finish network I/O" when inspecting firefox.exe.
Dependent on Bug 699854 ?
Yup, seems like this depends on bug 699854, marking as such.
Depends on: asyncDownloadMgr
probably more likely to be bug 789932, actually

Alex, is problem gone now that the above bug is fixed?

Wayne,

Unfortunately this bug still reproduces on Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:22.0) Gecko/20130311 Firefox/22.0 ID:20130311030946 CSet: eccf45749400

The only thing that changed is the download page is now http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jre7-downloads-1880261.html

Nightly remains "not responding" for the entire duration of the download.
