I've temporary set the default value for the "network.hosts.nntp_server" pref to
"news.mozilla.org" (from "news".)

right now, you can only post to the server specified by this pref.

before beta, switch it back in mozilla/modules/libpref/src/init/all.js

This needs to happen by PR1, so I added a note in the Status Whiteboard
Target Milestone: M10 → M12
moving to m12. this is a one line change that should happen right before beta.
until then, news.mozilla.org is a good default.
Do we still use this pref name in mozilla, or are these prefs all in the account
manager preferences?

sol, you are right.

perhaps this bug can morph into this one:

do we give the users a default news account on the server "news", like we did in
4.x?

moving to m15.
NNNEEEEOOOOWWW! No more default servers, please!
I heartily object to the broken 4.x behavior
we should just mark this bug invalid now that seth's news servers work in the
account manager (like they have for months :))

This is way not a beta1 issue, so I'm removing [PR1]. I'm thinking we should
just cut this in the interest of simplification. Sol, any objection?
Whiteboard: [PR1]
No objections - I'm all for simplification at this point :)
Marking wontfix. I'd call it helpwanted, but since the desirability is in
dispute, I'd rather just nuke it.
