Description

User Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 5.1; Trident/4.0; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.0.4506.2152; .NET CLR 3.5.30729)

Steps to reproduce:

On a pc with windows xp sp3 winupdate ok, when i start firefox, this error appears: "Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible."
I tryed to delete %userprofile%\dati applicazioni\mozilla and %userprofile%\impostazioni locali\dati applicazioni\mozilla folders, and also all contenents likes "firefox" in windows registry, unistall and reinstall firefox but don't work.

I tryed also to run firefox with -console command option but none console information appears (only the error message, after that firefox exits).

The error succeded only to one pc, i can give you vnc password to test and debug on this pc via mail if someone want to debug the problem

the problem exists with both 16 and 15 branches


Actual results:

this error appears: "Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible." then firefox exits.



Expected results:

normal run of firefox

i solved with a rm -rf of c:\document and settings\username and relogin with that user on winxp.
Seem a user profile problem, not a firefox bug.

how did you solve it?  im not runing xp, but Vista and got the same msg.  But i dont understand what people are saying works on the forum.  Could you give me the steps in layman terms...Please?

still having this problem with windows 10
I've deleted the program and all files and re-downloaded it and I'm sill getting 
          "Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible."
