For the droplist of time intervals in the updater options, they are currently not hooked up to check the selected frequency. we should either remove this dropdown or fix the list. Current behavior is aus:svc will check if phone is rebooted, or force checked.

I dont think this is a v1 blocker cause it doesnt break anything, but noming anyway.

Screenshot.

Repro:
1) install 10-26-2012 daily unagi build
BuildID=20121026074010
2) go to settings > Device Information > Check for updates Droplist
3) Verify the time intervals dont work (Daily, weekly, monthly, never)

Expected:
- enable the time intervals as displayed, or remove the droplist entirely

ActuaL;
- check for updates happens after a reboot, or manually forced

Marshall, do we have support for this in Gecko and just not listen to Gaia events?

@overholt Sorta. A pref controls the updater interval in Gecko, but there are no events being sent by Gaia currently (or being processed by Gecko)

Sorry to be a pest, but are we going to do something about that or should we just go with a single frequency?

This might be good to know if the aus ping takes up much data. We certainly dont want to ding people's data plans without them knowing.

The currently nightly update.xml is 612 bytes, with the current check frequency being once per day, that works out to ~18kb a month of data for update checks
