it is not possible to get the edit window to the front, so it's always hidden by the alarm window (see screenshot). this started happening a couple versions ago and still exists in TB 16.0.01 / Lightning 1.8 / Ubuntu 12.10.

I left Ubuntu (Unity) and switched to Ubuntu Gnome, where this problem did not appear. Now - after updating to TB 24.0 and Lightning 2.6. it also affects Ubuntu Gnome. Same problem. Working with Lightning is very ugly now. I have found this those comments on the 2.6. chane log: - Mac and Linux now support overlay scrollbars, giving you more room in the month view. - Some view related performance fixes. I guess the second one could be it "view related fixes"...

The notifications do appear in front of whatever tab may have focus, be it the Mail, Calendar or Event editing tabs, or Event editing window. Both of the screenshots White Wing attached show Close, Minimize and Maximize buttons in the notifications. Clicking the Minimize button works for me to allow me to edit an event, read mail, or peruse my calendar, if I don't want to Dismiss the notification.

White Wing,
Does what I posted in comment #6 above work for you?
