RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 435380

People

(Reporter: t8av, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:16.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/16.0
Build ID: 20121024073032

Steps to reproduce:

I was downloading a fie. In the middle of download due to internet slowness or server slowness, the download stopped.

Actual results:

The download manager showed a high bit rate (download speed), which was the bit rate before the hang.

Expected results:

Download manager should show bit rate zero when there is no actual download in progress.

Matt,

When hang, download speed is Totally incorrect, so please keep this bug. The other bug says that the speed is "inaccurate" which is a different thing.

Also, the other bug is from 2008 and still nobody bothered to fix it. "inaccurate" sounds like a small problem, but it is not the case.

In other words: the title of bug 435380 is misleading.
The title of a bug or that it's from 2008 doesn't matter as long as the bug is still open. Only the technical reason for a bug matters for duping bug reports. The duping of this report is correct as far as I can see.

The bug is IMO a small UI issue and that could be the reason why nobody provided a patch.
No small issue....

Whenever I see that the download hangs, then I need to do something to fix it (firefox does not do it automatically , also see bug 785578).

How can I know it hangs if the numbers are incorrect?
