Just for posterity, the reason I think this is important is because right now in these mozharness configs, "prod" means "used by automation" (as opposed to used by a developer or otherwise in standalone mode). All of the other places we talk about "production" in our code and infrastructure, it means "things specific to production systems" (as opposed to staging or development systems).
