After clicking the dropdowns for Friends or Notifications in the Facebook top bar, scrolling can only be done in the tiny, narrow space between the list contents and the outer frame of the Facebook app (see red arrow in attached screenshot). Attempting to scroll inside the dropdown list only scrolls left and right.

Just to note, this is observed on the B2G test phones, in the Facebook app - this isn't a problem on Firefox Mobile for Android.

Based on c1, it sounds like this is a B2G specific issue. Unless we have a specific request for Facebook I think this is an issue that we have to fix in B2G. Note that the clee also reported to me that he can't scroll the Facebook grey sidebar on B2G. That functionality works as expected on Firefox for Android as well.

I don't think I agree. The comment and screenshot above makes me think this is a responsive design issue with facebook, which is facebook's problem, not b2g. I don't see a b2g bug here.

I'll go check directly though.

Jason, the fact that this function works with Firefox for Android and not with B2G suggests to me that there is some difference between these two Mozilla products that is causing a difference in behaviour in the Facebook app. I think we need to understand the source of the discrepancy in our own products before we go to Facebook and ask them to debug this problem (with B2G hardware that I don't expect that they have at this point).

I'm currently on a B2G test phone, with the 2012-11-06 update (ac495039efd...), and I still see this. However, it' possible that it's been fixed in the nightly builds, and it just hasn't been pushed to the test phones.

And just to clarify, the problem is that scrolling up/down inside a vertical listview doesn't work - only left-right scrolling. Thus the only scrolling possible is outside the listview (hence the tiny scrollable margin).

I'll leave it resolved for now, and see if it shows up in next week's OTA update.
