Details

Currently, even after selecting it (which has it's own problems in bug 809678) if you hit cmd+w it closes the whole tab instead of just the "Inspect Network Request" window.
Another "cmd-w doesn't close xul panels" bug.
Depends on: 646816
Component: Developer Tools: Inspector → Developer Tools: Console
This is an even bigger problem on Linux when using a window manager that doesn't draw window borders; there's no way to get rid of the panel without closing the web console entirely.
This will be fixed by bug 720177.
