User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:19.0) Gecko/19.0 Firefox/19.0 Build ID: 20121109030635 Steps to reproduce: STR : 1. Go to https://github.com/bgirard 2. Select the line " Scripts for finding pattern in SPS profiles " Actual results: Super fuzzy selection Expected results: More legible selected text Repro with both HWA on and off. Opera 12.11 also renders the selected text like Nightly. But IE9 renders it much better. Attaching screenshot of IE9 VS nightly rendering.

I can confirm this is happening with me as well.

The fact that both Opera and FF show the fuzzyness, and IE9 doesnt, makes me wonder if the fuzziness might be the _intended_ behaviour. IE9 is poor on standard conformance, so it might not be rendering the text properly

Latest Chromium 25 version Build 167075 also renders like Firefox, so I think IE9 is at fault here. I agree with you mayankleoboy1 on this.
It's probably a dupe of bug 738239. Regression range: http://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/pushloghtml?fromchange=b4da2d439cbc&tochange=e9c620a5c85f Suspected bug: Jonathan Kew — Bug 692752 - paint text-shadow after selection highlight background. r=roc

IE10 RC, Opera12.12 is also rendering the selected font fuzzily. So it appears this is according to the spec itself.
