User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:16.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/16.0
Build ID: 20121024073032
Steps to reproduce:
General browsing for few hours. Memory on startup was about 187 MB, grew constantly to 430 MB. I went to about:memory and clicked minimize usage x3, memory actually grew from 430 MB to 445 MB!
Addons installed are:
Adblock Plus 2.1.2
Bobsled by TMobile 1.20.3.17353
Divx Plus Web Player HTML5 <video> 2.1.2.145
Download Statusbar 0.9.10
Downthemall! 2.0.15
Downthemall Anticontainer 1.2
Easy Youtube Video Downloader 6.5
Element Hiding Helper for Adblockplus 1.2.3
Febe 7.0.3.5
Greasemonkey 1.4
Lastpass 2.0.0
Moveable firefox button 1.4
Skipscreen 0.7.0
Stratiform 3.0.1
Actual results:
Visited about:memory after memory continued growing. Clicked minimize memory usage, but memory used increased!
Expected results:
Memory should decrease
Is it the same case in safe mode?

It might be likely an issue with one of your add-ons.

That happens fairly often -- that button re-generates the about:memory page, and this generation does consume some memory.

Can you reproduce this issue while in safe mode or with a clean profile?

And if you can't, it's almost certainly due to one of the add-ons. To work out which one, you'll have to selectively disable them, which I admit is a pain. I'd suggest starting with GreaseMonkey.
Hi Guys,
Apologies for the late reply. I have not managed to do a lot of browsing with Safe Mode, but so far so good.
I had last created a new profile when I upgraded to FF9 - back in Dec 2011. I will try resetting my profile and see what gains that gets me.
Turning Greasemonkey off has brought me from 1.4 GB after a day to 396-450 MB.
Thanks,
