User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:16.0) Gecko/20121026 Firefox/16.0 SeaMonkey/2.13.2
Build ID: 20121026204328
Steps to reproduce:
- newly installed seamonkey.
- several mail pop accounts are in use.
- several filters move mails into different folders.
- size filter is switched on (messages above xx kb are not downloaded immediately).
Actual results:
When incoming emails are bigger than xx kb
- in the main inbox the mail can be downloaded (after click)
- in the created folders the message is after downloading:
displayed only as a white color - no content is left.
- if this message is saved it has the size of zero.
On the pc where my seamonkey has run for some years (and which is updated to version 2.13.2. everything is fine.
On the newly installed seamonkey (same version 2.13.2.) the behaviour mentioned above occurs.
If the size filter is swiched off, messages are downloaded properly.
Expected results:
Mails that are bigger than xx kb (as set up in the size filter) should be downloaded after click and be visible.
concerning the newly installed seamonkey: the profile is not imported from the old one, it is a newly designed profile. The prefs.js in use is a new one not the old one.

Probably the same issue as MailNews Core Bug 815012 - Mail messages corrupt after running filters
Component: MailNews: Backend → Composer

Component: Composer → MailNews: Backend
What is the 'size filter in this case'? Is it the "do not download message larger than X KB' in Account settings?
Do you then move (via a proper filter) these incomplete messages to other folders?

Yes.

Yes; the incomming messages are automatically moved by proper filters.

Thanks for asking - Since I had that problem I did no longer use the option for not downloading messages larger than xx KB. Therefor I cannot tell.

It would be great if you could do a single test: send a big e-mail to your self, ...
(In reply to Rainer Bielefeld from comment #7)
I have switched to linux and thunderbird; I don't use seamonkey any more. But the problem is the same (I just checked it). Using "don't download messages when larger then xx KB"; after downloading the rest of the message, there is no content left, no attachment left - just a white empty e-mail.

Thanks a lot! Did you ever try such thins like Safe Mode (without Extensions) or new profile or whatever else (if you took your existing SM-Profile to Linux-Thunderbird a problem in the profile might have been inherited.
a) modified OS, Product due to comment above
b) In <https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/buglist.cgi?cmdtype=dorem&remaction=run&namedcmd=DUPs812944&sharer_id=41036&list_id=12460590> I did not see an obvious DUP
c) I wonder whether this one really is related to
"Bug 815012 - Mail messages corrupt after running filters", what has been fixed
long ago.
