Thanks for your patch!  I think Remanence is an uncountable noun, but CCing a native English speaker to verify.  :-)

I believe that to be true, given the Wikipedia page on the concept. I've never seen the word myself :)

The Wikipedia article <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Remanence> uses the plural form "remanences", the Wiktionary page <http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/remanence> says the plural form is "remanences", and one finds uses of the word in technical literature <http://magician.ucsd.edu/essentials/WebBookse87.html>, so it looks like a countable noun.
