Hey all,

In a moment, I'll be attaching PSDs (and JPGs, for reference) of 2 of the 3 banners.

I think what would make sense is to start with just the FF T-Shirt banner for a few days, then switch to video, then switch to protect the web tshirt (which is not final/approved yet), and then have all 3 going for the final week-10 days or so of December.

Does that sound good?

Sorry to badger, but can you please update on progress here? It seemed like you guys would need ~3 business days or so to turn something around when you emailed last week, so hopefully we're close to being able to roll out on the initial banner?

I've opened a pull request (https://github.com/mozilla/bedrock/pull/520) for the first banner. Hopefully we can get it merged tomorrow and pushed to production as soon as possible, either tomorrow or first thing Monday.

The video promo is dependent on bug 796049. We may need to consider a contingency plan if we can't get the video functionality completed next week.

I'd love to have that functionality, but we'd assumed it'd just be a static video still, and then the page it links to has the video on it. You guys ok with rolling that out if 796049 doesn't get resolved in time?

WHat's the current status on our ability to swap in a different banner? It would be great if we could put the next one in at the end of this week (either the video or the Protect the Web tshirt), swap that late next week, and then get all three running starting just before Christmas.

Does that seem doable?

Because the video one is a bit trickier to implement let's do that one last. We can change to the Protect the Web shirt promo this Friday and work on the video promo next week.

Also added background colors so promos are readable without images.

For the last couple weeks of the year (which really begins next week), it would be great if we could get the banners that are in rotation at the front of the rotation. Beard initially okayed being in 1st or 2nd position throughout the Month, so maybe we can just have it as first for the final half?

one of the main purposes of this is that a lot of people will be coming to the site simply looking to donate at end of year, and how to do that is fairly buried right now.

The "play in place" video functionality is mostly done but needs to go through some more rigorous QA before we can comfortably put it into production. So for the video promo we'll need to just go with a plain screenshot for now (it links to the page with the video anyway). Sorry, I was hoping we'd be able to do the video inline as a nice bonus but there wasn't time.

We'll push the third promo live tomorrow and it'll run all next week. Then next Friday we'll put all three in rotation.

Should these three fundraiser promos be the only three in rotation (taking over the entire slideshow) or should they intersperse the Android and Firefox OS promos (making five slides in all)?

We should be able to push to production some time tomorrow.

All three are now in production. 

Considering the holidays next week they'll end up running until the 2nd or 3rd. If it's absolutely essential they be taken down on the 31st we'll need to make some special arrangements to do so, but I imagine it should be ok if they stay up an extra day or two into 2013?
