Exit the contacts app Expected: Deleted contacts would not show at all, even temporarily Actual: The deleted contacts show up just long enough to make you think you have lost your mind since you just deleted them

Sorry, but I don't fully understand the bug. You create 5 contacts and start deleting them 1 by 1? Each time you delete a contact, you automatically go back to the contacts list. Is there where the deleted contact still appear? Are we talking about deleting them all together using UITest app? Thanks!

blocking- Is this really blocking smoketest? If you could provide a video of this one that would help us determine severity.

Sorry, I have been using "smoketest" for any bugs found during smoketest. I see the flashing after I return to the contacts app - I delete all the contacts one by one, exit the app, and then when I return I see the contacts briefly. I will try to capture a video to show you what I am seeing.
Marcia, Is this bug still valid? I cannot reproduce it. Please update.

I will test this today and report back.

I was not able to reproduce this using the 20121219 nightly build. Resolving as WFM and I will reopen if it is seen again. I still believe the device has some sort of caching issue as I have seen other instances of this happening when I make a change and relaunch the app for the first time.
