Tapping, as opposed to dragging, a number or item should scroll it to be the selected item. This would be particularly good for AM/PM, where because it seems like a double option, you think you have to tap the unselected one to select it.

This would also help test automation as tap is lower cost (in both execution time and reliability) than the action chains for press, move, release.
