User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux i686; rv:17.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/17.0 Build ID: 20121129151900 Steps to reproduce: I frequently just shut down the OS - not firefox. I have "start with blank page" set -- but firefox ignores this. I have browser.sessionstore.resume_from_crash set to FALSE Firefox restores the session anyway. Actual results: I frequently just shut down the OS. I have "start with blank page" set -- but firefox ignores this. browser.sessionstore.resume_from_crash used to prevent the annoying behaviour of restoring the session but it is now broken. So now firefox ignores TWO user directives and restores the session. Expected results: It should pay attention to browser.sessionstore.resume_from_crash variable and just started with a blank page. Of course, if should just start with a blank page if the user asked it to in the first place, but alas.
Component: Untriaged → Session Restore
Gerry, can you still reproduce this? If the browser crashes (because you shut down the OS but not Firefox) then only pinned tabs should be restored automatically. Also when quitting the browser we should just restore pinned tabs.

I can confirm this is fixed -- tested from a virtual machine. *Now* there's another similar utoward behavior - it keeps asking to save open sessions even if you check the "don't ask me again" box. Sigh.
