Back when we first started poisoning writes, we set the poisoning to the latest point where it would not fire. It looks like something got fixed and it is now possible to move it a bit earlier:

The last reported write is bug 752642, so it might be possible to move it a bit more, but I would like to go one step at a time in case there is some write our tests don't cover.
