Attached video Quick search field selecting text (obsolete) —
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:17.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/17.0 Build ID: 20121128204232 Steps to reproduce: Selecting text to the left in a single line control and moving mouse outside the control to left and down Actual results: When mouse gets to the left and lower the control - selection inverts to the right Expected results: Selection should remain as is. Tested on a quick search field, but also happens to every html input field. Only happens on Linux version. Tested openSUSE 12.2 Firefox 17 and Debian 6 Iceweasel 3.5.16 Attaching video
OS: Windows 7 → Linux
GNOME Yelp input field also same behavior of Firefox. So, I think this is by design.
Yes, I noticed that, for example Quick Search in Debian's Synaptic Package Manager also behaves same way. But on the other hand, Opera web browser does not, renaming files in Gnome File Manager does not and many other examples. Would be great if it could be a configurable, because currently it's quite inconvenient (at least for me)

gedit’s file open dialog and Xfce’s run dialog on Debian testing behave the same way. Advice: use WebM or Ogg/Theora for screencasts. Those are free formats, and can be played with Firefox.
