Throughout Sync (whether current or future), we deal with the concept of a device. "Resetting will wipe these three devices"; "tabs from other devices"; "send to device"; "you have three devices connected to your account".
In the Metro world — and who knows what else — we will be forced to address that a user's conception of a single device (their Win8 tablet) actually consists of two different Sync clients.
Issues:
* Lost or stolen device (remote wipe). This actually needs to remove more than one client; there's no sense in wiping Classic when Metro is still connected to your Sync account!
-- perhaps Metro should share certs?
* Viewing tabs ought to have some conception of another device being actually a different part of the same device. ("Tabs from Classic".)
* Counts of devices might want to differentiate between physical and 'virtual'. It would be surprising for a Windows user with one tablet and one phone to see "3 connected devices".
* Sync intervals, similarly. We can assume that Metro will force syncs when mode-switching, so despite having two clients we probably want to stick with a single device interval.
* Probably more.
WONTFIX'ing for cleanup. Re-open if this is still (somehow) an issue after all this time...
