definitely better than the 12/26 build which would consume 25 % in 1.5 hr.

Note: on 1/6/2012 build.
Why do you think it's e.g. the camera app instead of e.g. the modem?

2-3% delta doesn't seem like a big deal, and its not clear what the root cause is. If it were 25% thought that would be pretty bad. We should invest in some detailed power profiling post 1.0.

It would be best to have some sort of tool to do a true analytical study in terms of the power consumption.
Is there an Gecko API that I can tap into in regards to power consumption for the device?

If we wanted real power consumption numbers, it wouldn't be too hard to rig up some test equipment to make power measurements of the DUT while running the automated tests. Agilent makes battery emulators specifically for this purpose.
