User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.2; rv:18.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/18.0 Build ID: 20130104151925 1. Launch Firefox 18 RC. 2. Install http://ted.mielczarek.org/mozilla/crashme.html add on and make sure the Menu Bar is active (Tools -> Options -> Menu bar). 3. Repeatedly crash Firefox, restart and restore your session. Expected results: The Mozilla Crash Reporter is opened accordingly and Session Restore is working as expected. Actual results: The session restore is not working as expected, the Menu Bar is not remembered as active. This issue is intermittent. Because of that I couldn't reproduce it on the latest nightly nor to find a regression window.
I was able to still reproduce this bug on 48.0b7 (20160711002726), using Windows 8.1 x64. Also, I observed that, in the same context, neither toolbar changes are remembered - only if Firefox is restarted after customizing the toolbar buttons and before using the Crash Me addon.
I think menu bar state has nothing to do with session restore. If anything it's menus or preferences. But TBH it might even be working as designed. Ditto for toolbar - not the responsibility of session restore
Component: Session Restore → Preferences
Severity: normal → S3
