User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Android; Tablet; rv:18.0) Gecko/18.0 Firefox/18.0 Build ID: 20130104163142 Steps to reproduce: go to http://xkcd.org Actual results: read the comics Expected results: at least a half of the punchline lies in the alt baloon shown during mouseover. this feature is essential for the xkcd site. there must be a way to get the alt srings displayed in mobile firefox...
Probably not the answer you're looking for but you can long tap on each image; the alt is used in the context title.
Scratch that, that's the title attribute.
Do other mobile browsers show the alt text somewhere?
Alt text should only be shown if the image does not display. Title text is shown on long tap, bug 660802. In addition for this specific case there is https://m.xkcd.com/ to deal with the fact most mobile browsers have no way to show a tooltip.
ok, great. the long tap is a good-enough solution...
