There exists nice code for turning ADDONID into a domain (that is safe), at: https://github.com/mozilla/addon-sdk/blob/master/app-extension/bootstrap.js#L96 It would be nice if this code made it into 'self' so other modules can use it.
Is this still needed for the indexeddb stuff? I think Mossop suggested some stuff sometime after you filed this.

It's just a nice to have, in the same way that the "root addon preference" is a nice to have. I am fine closing. (Also, I already patched the `indexeddb` at https://github.com/mozilla/addon-sdk/pull/719).
