User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:17.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/17.0 Build ID: 20121203144149 Steps to reproduce: In XFCE-4.10.0, if you click on a green icon in the bottom right hand corner of the screen, an exit dialog appears. If Firefox is on the virtual screen, the menus are affected. This was partial in 15.0.1, 100% of time on 16.0.1 & 17.0.1 with ATI OSS driver, and partial on 17.0.1 & Intel driver Actual results: Menus won't display. Click on Bookmarks, for example, and the bookmarks menu shows. But you can't pick one, because as soon as you move the mouse down from the word "Bookmarks" the menu disappears. A minimized firefox window is not affected - just open ones. Likewise, when a number of saved logins are available (e.g. Gmail) clicking on the username displays the choices. This only works for an instant and you can't choose them. Expected results: None of the above should have happened. It's not the suspend - It's the display of the Log out dialog box that does it. Suspending or hibernation is not necessary for the fault to develop. As it appeared in 15.0.1 and got worse in 16.0.1 I presume it is a firefox bug.
I forgot to mention that with the mouse over "Bookmarks", for example, the keyboard arrows allow menu selection. The focus is not affected. So if I leave the mouse on "Bookmarks" and press down arrow half a dozen times I'm into he bookmarks. Move the mouse, and the menu is gone.

Thanks for reporting this! Can you still reproduce this? Have you tried if the problem exists in Safe Mode? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-and-diagnose-firefox-problems?redirectlocale=en-US&redirectslug=Basic+Troubleshooting#w_3-restart-firefox-in-safe-mode And with a Fresh profile? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles If the problem is still available could you try to identify a regression windows using mozregression http://mozilla.github.io/mozregression/ with a first good version and a bad once?

You can close this one. The problem is gone with 17.0.1. Not a Bug any more.

I have this bug on Linux Mint 16 XFCE edition with Firefox 26.0. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open the suspend dialog, then close it, just the dialog causes the bug. 2. Try to open any menus in Firefox, none will appear, other windows' menus work fine. An easy workaround is to simply switch to another application window and back to Firefox, and the menus work again. This bug doesn't happen if Firefox is open but another application is focused. I used the mozregression script and got a regression window: Last good revision: fe3f7889918b (2011-04-10) First bad revision: 09b605eb3e0d (2011-04-11) Pushlog: http://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/pushloghtml?fromchange=fe3f7889918b&tochange=09b605eb3e0d
I've since switched to Debian Stable, which has XFCE 4.8, and this bug doesn't happen there. Linux Mint 16 uses XFCE 4.10.
