User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:18.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/18.0 Build ID: 20130104151925 Steps to reproduce: I developed a website (http://www.drfreund.net), which includes a scrolling DIV. Actual results: With Firefox 18.0 all text in the scrolling DIV looks blurry (e.g. in the menu on the left), while text in the static header-part looks fine (see attached screenshot). With Firefox 17.0 and older versions of Firefox everything looked fine. I'm using Firefox on Win XP SP3 with ClearType font-smoothing enabled. Expected results: Fonts should be displayed properly.
It looks like a dupe of bug 828206? Reinhard, could you try Firefox 21 and confirm it's fixed on your side as users said in bug 828206? (Download FF21 here: http://nightly.mozilla.org/)

> could you try Firefox 21 I will try that later. Meanwhile, I noticed that the blurry fonts only occur on some systems (e.g. on my company-pc with Win XP SP3 running in VM-Player). At home, where I use native Win XP SP3, everything looks fine. Maybe it's a problem with VM-Player, but no other version of Firefox behaved like that.

Argh, I didn't see you're using Win XP, but not Win 7. Likely not the same bug.
Yes I have it installed on both machines and they are both on Win 7. When I disable D2D I am not able to reproduce it.
Ah ok, you're on Win 7 with Win XP VM. So it's likely the same bug. Uninstalling this MS update will fix the issue (especially if you don't use IE10). This update has caused many issues, not only with Firefox, like BSOD, graphic glitches etc... https://www.google.com/search?q=KB2670838
