To reproduce: Go to http://143george.dhs.org/~tarka/css.html Select any alternative stylesheet Result: As the margin is adjusted the margin area is not filled with the stylesheet's background area, but with the browser default. Changing back to default sheet adjusts the margin back, but fails to fill the margin. The page above is validated XHTML. The effect does not occur when using a plain HTML page (no doctype). (The equivilent plain HTML page is available at http://143george.dhs.org/~tarka/css2.html)
