User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.8; rv:18.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/18.0 Build ID: 20130104151948 Steps to reproduce: In Firefox ESR 10.0.11 and 10.0.12, the user agent string is similar to the following: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:10.0.12) Gecko/20130104 Firefox/10.0.1 This exists on both Linux and Windows builds - other builds have not been tested. Actual results: The Gecko version is reported correctly, but the Firefox version is not. Expected results: Firefox/10.0.1 should read Firefox/10.0.12

WFM on Windows 7 and Ubuntu 12.04. I get the following user agents: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:10.0.12) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/10.0.12 Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:10.0.12) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/10.0.12
Hi Seth, thanks for reporting the bug. How are you determining the user agent string being sent? Is it possible it's somehow being truncated somewhere else? Is the value on the "about:" page correct?
It's quite possible. I'm having trouble reproducing it now - you can likely mark this as resolved. If I can pinpoint the issue back on the actual agent string I'll re-open.
Thanks for following up - feel free to REOPEN this if you have additional info!

On my Firefox ESR 24.5.0, the UserAgent string that is getting sent is this: User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:24.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/24.0 Shouldn't it really be saying FirefoxESR/24.5.0 for that last bit. It would give sites like Outlook.com which currently suggest I upgrade my Firefox version a little more information to work with.
I think we stopped putting minor version numbers in the user agent string after Firefox 10. If you think this is a bug which broke recently then please file a new bug. It's typically poor practice to comment on a bug that's been closed for over a year.
