2013 Gallery intro blurb. Welcome users to view the new films. Provide a little background on Get Mobilized. Invite them to share their favorites to their social networks. If there is enough room, invite to follow us on facebook, twitter, tumblr for more in-depth look at Flicks. Give filmmakers a path to see the "evergreen" promo videos for inspiration.

What do you think about adding links to Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr as icons, but downplaying them since the main CTA is to watch and share the videos? I don't know how this is going to look, so it's hard for to say. Is there an example I could look at? Here's the copy I was thinking. Let me know if it will work: Welcome to the Firefox Flicks 2013 gallery This year we're asking filmmakers and Firefox fans to inspire others to get mobilized by telling the world about the power and potential of mobile. Have a look at the entries and be sure to share you favorites with your friends. If you're thinking about entering, you can also watch our promos to get inspired and learn more about making your winning flick.
Hey Matej, I think the dev team is adding the share icons in the individual video pages but not on the main gallery where people will see a grid of video thumbnails. Are you thinking adding the social icons like in the top right corner of the Flicks landing page? That would work - visible but subtle. Ben, what do you think.
Yep users will be able to share individual videos. It is technically possible to share the main gallery page but I am not sure how compelling this would be or if would look right, there will be a lot happening on this page. intro text promo videos list of videos pagination etc If we do add it I suggest keeping it simple perhaps just text links.

Here's a screenshot of the gallery page in its current state (all thumbnails are FPO, naturally) to give you a sense of the space and general layout we're working with. We should very clearly separate the promos from the submissions, so I think it warrants a second headline (plus the box for the promos) but possibly a second blurb as well. We don't want to top-load the page *too* much. We could explore some layout ideas for the top section, maybe move the promo videos to the side.
Oh, I see. I thought that would just be a link to the promo videos. I didn't realize they'd actually be on this page. I think it would be better if we kept the promos at the bottom, below the links to the previous and next pages. That way the submissions would be the first thing people see, which I think is the main point of this page. It would also work better with the hierarchy of messaging. If we could do that, then I'd see the copy like this: Welcome to the Firefox Flicks 2013 gallery This year we're asking filmmakers and Firefox fans to inspire others to get mobilized by telling the world about the power and potential of mobile. Have a look at the entries and be sure to share you favorites with your friends. [2013 ENTRY VIDEOS] [PAGE LINKS] Flicks trailers If you're thinking about entering, you can also watch our promos to get inspired and learn more about making your winning flick. [PROMO VIDEOS]
(In reply to Matej Novak [:matej] from comment #6) > Oh, I see. I thought that would just be a link to the promo videos. I didn't > realize they'd actually be on this page. They're on the page but I wasn't sure if we'd put them at the top or the bottom. I was worried about pushing the new submissions below the fold, but also didn't want to bury the promos. It's a conundrum. But since these promos will be featured on the home page as well, I think they're ok at the bottom of this page. So I'll move them to the bottom and use your copy.
Resolving so we know copy is final.
