1. Turn Wifi off
2. Pair and connect to BT headset
3. Make a call to the test device and receive it on headset
4. Turn on Wifi and connect to nearby AP
result: Noise is heard in the BT headset as soon as the wifi connection is made.

from my experience, usually this kind of issue end up being RF performance issue or load balancing between BT/Wifi when the 2.4GHz antenna is shared between BT/Wifi. is this really something that Mozilla can fix?

Agree. I don't think we could do anything in Gecko/Gaia to fix this problem. Adjusting parameters of BT/WIFI chip may help.
Even if using my HTC Sensation XL to connect with Jabra Wave, I heard some noise as well.
Nominate as tef? again based on the reason above.

This related to Wifi/Bluetooth co-existence topic, and moreover, it can be probably improved from WCN chipset firmware. What Greg mentioned is to write property and make WLAN firmware understand Bluetooth is on, and co-existence mechanism will be enabled.

This patch is platform-dependent. To solve the noise problem, we'll land this patch with clear comment which describes that we need to provide a more clear mechanism for partners to sense the toggling of Bluetooth.

Hi Greg,
Since you did not request a review, I slightly modified your patch and am going to ask Gina for review. If you would like to use your patch or have any problems, please feel free to let me know.
Thank you.

patch 1: v1: Set a system property for WIFI firmware knowing Bluetooth toggling
This patch may have conflict with b2g-18 since BLUETOOTH_DEBUGGINS_SETTING is not defined in b2g-18. Please make sure the patch won't burn the tree :)

Hi Eric,
I'm not planning to use my patch, so please modify in the way that you see fit in order to fix this issue. Thanks!

Issue does not occur on bluetooth test devices Jabra(SP 200) and Rocketfish (Model RF-QX4). Seems to be fixed.
