Java up to SE 7 Update 11 has known vulnerabilities actively exploited allowing hackers to steal personal data, that is why Mozilla blocked Java with a way to unblock it for trusted websites or a session: https://support.mozilla.org/kb/how-to-use-java-if-its-been-blocked Anyway, the latest version, SE 7 Update 13, is no longer blocked.
