FWIW, we could still chemspill ESR10 before the next merge, when we will offer updates from ESR10 to ESR17 for the first time.

True, but being a client-side change, this is easy to revert locally should we need visibility (and I've long since stopped looking at anything ESR10, or ESR at all tbh).
