UCID: CostControl-001 User Story: As a cost conscious user, I want to know the amount of (non-WiFi) data used by each app on my device in the defined billing period in order to limit my usage of certain apps.

That needs platform support which we don't have yet. Jonas, do you know when we can expect that to be implemented?
Hello there! This feature was dropped for V1 long time ago. We need back-end support and Albert an I are thinking about a new version of StatisticsAPI. We have good ideas for future versions. If you want, guys, we can open an etherpad to discuss the proposal ;)
Summary: [B2G][CostControl][User Story] Per-app data usage tracking → [CostControl][User Story] Per-app data usage tracking
As Salva said, this feature was dropped for V1. It was started in bug 746073 but stopped because blocking-basecamp minus flag

There is still UX that still needs to be created for this. Also the other bug does not have the appropriate bugs set for the LEO+ milestone. Peter can you sort out which bug the discussion should be happening in?

Daniel, I'd love your input on whether or not we should pursue this in 1.1.

HI. I have one question about this topic. There are many android/iOS cracked apps on internet. These cracked apps some are through stop data flow to stop advertisement show and turn it to paid version. So, If we let user control the Apps data flow on/off, That is help user stop the advertisement from some free Apps. My question is~ Is this requirement just let user monitor or they can control them? Or maybe just let user switch (3G/Wifi) without off option ?
Apps should not count on having connectivity. If downloading ads is needed the app can detect that it hasn't had connectivity for too long and ask the used to take action. The year will always have ultimate control over giving app connectivity. There is always the ability to turn on airplane mode before starting the app.
(In reply to Peter Dolanjski [:pdol] from comment #5) > Daniel, I'd love your input on whether or not we should pursue this in 1.1. I'd love to have this feature, together with the possibility to allow traffic only for some apps. However, I do not think is realistic to have it for leo. I think this unrelated to this User Story. This User Story is about measuring the amount of data every app consumes, regardless it is advertising or any other type of traffic. Activating/Deactivating data traffic for apps should be part of a different User Story. (In reply to Casey Yee [:cyee] from comment #4) > There is still UX that still needs to be created for this. Also the other > bug does not have the appropriate bugs set for the LEO+ milestone. > This feature was in scope for 1.0 and dropped during Sao Paulo working week because of timing. There should be (don't know where :)) some IxD for it that may be a good input for this.

Hi all - I'm the new UX Team PM helping Jaime Chen out. This bug was tagged trackingb2g+ but the bug it refers to (746073) isn't tracking. Does anyone know if this bug is still on (or should be)? If it is, I'll reopen our UX tracking bug and assign it. Thanks!
