Crash Data

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:18.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/18.0
Build ID: 20130201065344

Steps to reproduce:

Start Firefox

BUT first:
switch to powersaving card/intel:
Driver: Intel(R) HD Graphics Family
Driver Provider: ATI Technologies Inc.
Driver Date: 09/06/2011
Driver Version: 8.851.2.0

btw basic specs:
alienware m17xR3, Windows 7 x64, fully updated from MS, Firefox 18.0.2, switchable graphics ATI6990M/Intel ? (HD3000 I believe)

Actual results:

firefox crashes randomly during startup

Expected results:

it should start as normal. actually it used to do that before couple of FF versions back or couple of ATI drivers back (noticed since ATI catalyst mobility WHQL 12.10, currently running 13.2beta5 and still the same), possibly FF was on earlier version as well, I see first crash reported on FF18.0

defo NOT about add-ons (same when all disabled)
issue doesn't happen when:
- running on ATI card (not Intel)
- or when I disable HW acceleration in advanced options for FF

dude from 815851 claimed disabling HW accel doesnt help so maybe he has sth different?

funny: looking at crash reports I am running intel drivers, yet crashing drivers are ati, maybe a switchable thing, maybe not.

Here the crash reports - just a few (2 oldest, 2 newest):

This can, as most crashes caused by the graphic card drivers, only be fixed by fixed driver.

I see that Direct2D and Direct3D10 are disabled.
The driver version for the Intel GPU is the ATI one and we don't handle that.

I'm marking this bug as WORKSFORME as bug crashlog signature didn't appear from a long time (over half year) in Firefox.
