Details

From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:0.9+) Gecko/20010603 BuildID: 2001060308 Immediately after starting Mozilla, I click on the URL bar and try to use arrow keys/home/end/etc but they have no response; typing works, as does backspacing, as does mouse movement. Happens if start page is set to blank or to an actual page. Seems similar to bug 83109. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start Mozilla 2. Click on URL bar 3. Type something if it's blank 4. Press arrow keys, home, end Actual Results: The cursor stayed at the same place. Expected Results: The cursor moves left, right, to the beginning of the line, to the end of the line, as you command. This was happening to me a few hours ago, but I had to shut my computer off due to electricity problems. When I turned it on again, I opened Mozilla and this bug didn't show itself. I closed it and reopened it, and it has been happening since. It also seems to happen when opening a new navigator window.
Hmm, seems it happens in a text entry field on a page if that is the default cursor position, too. Here's a search I did on Google that has no matches, and sets the default cursor position inside the search terms box: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&safe=off&q=GL5100+DKO
Confirming on 2001060409 on Win2K. I'm noticing this too on textfields in Bookmark Properties and New Folder/Bookmark dialogs. Changing component to XP Toolkit/Widgets. Feel free to change it again if I'm wrong.

Same as bug 83919 which has a nice stacktrace of assertion as well as an easy set of steps-to-reproduce *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 83919 ***
