One of my biggest annoyances with SMS/email/etc is typos not being autocorrected. I've been using phones that do this for so long that it really hurts not having it. We have an engine that's pretty close to what we need already, for word suggestions. (I've never used suggestions, personally.) We should be able to implement autocorrect more efficiently than suggestions since autocorrect only kicks in at word boundaries, not on every character.
